"BATTLE BUDDIES"
MSG Virtual Support
PTSD, Axiety, Sleeplessness Depression, Uncontrolled Anger or Sadness, Suicide,
Our highest priority as Marines should be ensuring the wellfare of our brothers in battle, especially if that battle hasn't ended. Reviewing the history of our unit, you will realize many detachment MSGs have "seen some sh*t". During an after attack debriefing, Marines are told in many cases "do not talk about it", leaving many of the thoughts and memories left to fester.
Can we, as current and former MSGs, come together and do something that might help?
PROPOSAL: a once a month virtual-meeting allowing a group of (former and active) MSGs to talk about what is affecting them, how they're handling it, what problems they're dealing with. Biggist concern would be MSGs who are battling End-of-Life decisions. We'll find others who have been fighting that monstor and have insight on what helps them. We can go one-on-one chats to work through the crisis.
I'm throwing this out there to MSGs and MEGA Members. If interested I'll assemble the tools to set up a video conference. Any volunteers would be appreciated... helping form a better way for this to work ... allowing "Anonymous" members to seak help. Identifying a way to quickly respond to a Marine down situation. Dealing with the aftermath of a call crisis..
Please Contact me jackmcgarry@yahoo.com to discuss the proposal... or, if you simply need to talk..
The VA has crisis line - Simply dial 988 / or for EMT response dial 911.
